A holistic start, now a complete practice

Botanical Veterinary Care began as a home-visit service built around gentle, integrative, whole-animal medicine. That approach hasn't changed — it's simply found a home.

As The Veterinary Wellness Centre, we now offer everything a modern first-opinion practice should: routine and preventative care, dentistry, surgery, diagnostic imaging and laboratory work, and a dedicated rehabilitation and hydrotherapy suite — woven together with acupuncture, herbal medicine and nutrition when they help.

Our story

From a botanical beginning

Botanical Veterinary Care began in 2021 as a home-visiting holistic service — Dr Miriam Main travelling across the Lothians with herbal medicine and acupuncture, and a conviction that veterinary care should be unhurried and whole-animal.

In 2024 that ethos found a home when The Veterinary Wellness Centre opened at Newcraighall, and by 2025 it had grown into a full practice — surgery, dentistry, imaging and hospitalisation — earning ISFM Gold and Zero Pain accreditation along the way. Same founder, same philosophy; a great deal more we can now do for your pet.
